Oracle Business Intelligence v11.1.1.5.0 available for download
Oracle has released a new version of the Oracle Business Intelligence Suite: version 11.1.1.5.0. You can download it here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-enterprise-edition/downloads/biee-111150-393613.html.
The new product capabilities delivered span out-of-the-box iPad and iPhone support, extended OLAP and in-memory platform support, enhanced real-time decision management features, new certifications, and more.
Users now have the ability to initiate actions and workflows directly from their mobile devices – helping to reduce the time needed to make decisions while enabling a more flexible, agile organization.
This new product release also introduces extended support for additional data sources including Oracle TimesTen In-Memory Database, Oracle OLAP, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services and SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW).

Oracle Database XE 11.2 Beta is out
No joke! On 1 april Oracle released the beta of Oracle XE 11.2.

Oracle Database XE is easy to install, easy to manage, and easy to develop with. With Oracle Database XE, you use an intuitive, browser-based interface to administer the database, create tables, views, and other database objects, import, export, and view table data, run queries and SQL scripts, and generate reports.

SQL Developer 3.0 Final released
On 29 march the final release of SQL developer 3.0 is released and is available for download on OTN: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html.

Data Miner: A new SQL Developer extension, Oracle Data Miner is the graphical user interface for Oracle Data Mining, an option to the Oracle Database Enterprise Edition.
Data Modeler: SQL Developer Data Modeler 3.0 is now fully integrated, providing read and write access for designing and developing data models.
Exporting and Importing: The Importing and Exporting wizards have been updated to support a wider range of choices.
Query Builder: Visual SQL Query Builder with an object drag and drop feature from the connection navigator to the Query Builder view.
SQL Tuning: SQL Tuning Advisor analyzes high-volume SQL statement and offers tuning recommendations.

Oracle APEX 4.0 Cookbook published
I am currently working in an Oracle Apex development team at Philips in Eindhoven. Two colleagues of our team have been writing for almost a half year on their first book.

SQL Developer 3.0 EA released
After the introduction of the new 3.0 EA version of the Oracle Data Modeler tool, SQL Developer 3.0 Early Adopter is also released.
